Halloween Predators: What you need to know
Halloween is almost here and while it’s a holiday meant to bring fun, it is also a time where parents need to be on high alert as danger could easily be lurking at your neighbors door.
For those in Arizona, The Arizona Department of Public Safety has a free APP called, “AZDPS Mobile” that you can download that will show you if there are any listed criminals in your neighborhood. Another concern this Halloween season? Tainted candy. Just recently a five-year-old boy from Ohio was taken to the hospital for seizures after receiving candy that was laced with meth.
“Unless they (criminals) are on probation and it’s part of their probation that they cannot partake in Halloween, they are free to pass out candy. Again it has to be apart of their probation that says that they cannot answer doors and hand out candy. Looking through your child’s bag of candy is always a safe precaution to make sure that everything is sealed up and safe, ” said Sergeant Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department.
“Trick or Treat on Historic Main Street” starts at 4pm on October 31st in Yuma along with “Scary and Safe Trick or Treat” will be at the Yuma County Fairgrounds at 5pm.
