Local fitness and wellness expert shares tips with residents

The Healing Journey partnered with fitness and wellness expert Kella Price in the “Healthy Habits, Healthy Mom” event and shared some helpful tips on how to de-stress with residents.

Residents gathered for meditation and healing yoga and raised money for a good cause.

The event took place on Friday, October 12, but News 11 sat down with Kella Price to discuss how important the event was for moms, wives and so many more in the community.

Price believes events like these can make a significant impact on how we live our everyday lives.

” I want them to have healthier lifestyles, because when we take care of ourselves and have tools, tips and strategies to be more effective in life we feel better about ourselves and we can be more effective as parents, we can be more effective in the workplace, and focus on things that are really important to us,” said Price.

Although the event has passed, the healing journey is still accepting donations. The purpose of the event was to make residents aware of the consequences stress can unfold in their life, and share tips on how to control them.

“People get anxious if you’re stressed out. You can suffer from depression, it can cause fatigue and this really just helps clear your mind to refocus your body, allow you to still yourself. It’s for all fitness levels and abilities and then the restorative, the healing yoga, is a process to help move through balance, stretching, flexibility, very gentle very relaxing, ” said Price.
