Man arrested after armed robbery of UPS facility appears in court

The man taken into custody after an armed robbery at a UPS facility back in May, appeared in court Tuesday for a continuance hearing.

23-year-old Adrian Guzman was in court for a continuance of his trial setting and change of plea hearing which will take place in two weeks.

ORIGINAL STORY: One arrested after armed robbery leads to police chase

YPD said at approximately 8:25 p.m. on May 31, officers responded to a report of a theft at the UPS facility, located at 2851 S 2 ½E.

Officers said during the incident a handgun was pointed at employees and the suspects left with several packages.

A pursuit ensued during which stop sticks were deployed in an attempt to disable the fleeing vehicle.

The vehicle stopped on the 16th Street exit ramp from I-8 where officers performed a high-risk vehicle stop.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle were taken into custody.
