Arizona Western College “takes steps” towards finding a cure for breast cancer
Arizona Western College is “walking out” on domestic violence and taking steps to help support finding a cure for breast cancer during the Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.
AWC hopes to “take steps to support finding a cure for breast cancer” and “step up to domestic violence.”
On Wednesday , October 17 at 10 A.M., students and members of the community will be dressed in pink and purple as they walk around the campus in support.
The walk will begin on the main campus and continue in a ribbon formation.
The school is walking for both causes seeing as October is breast cancer awareness month following the school’s health and wellness theme, and the domestic violence cause following the school’s relationship theme.
The school likes to cover one theme per month to educate students and the community.
The walk will be open to both students and members of the community as well.
The first 50 people to sign up and attend the walk will get a free T-shirt.
Christine Rouff, health and wellness coordinator says it is important to bring these issues to light and make the community aware by showing support to those who have struggled with these issues.
Because this is an awareness campaign with AWC, they hope people will donate only if they feel inclined to do so.
To sign up for the walk, you can contact AWC’s student health and wellness coordinator Christine Rouff, at (928) 317-7602 or (928) 317-6067.
