Local business owner honored by Boys & Girls Clubs in Northern California

A local business owner will be honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs for his support of the local youth of Monterey County.

President and CEO of JV Smith Companies, Vic Smith, will be honored with the Roosevelt Williams President’s Award on Wednesday, November 7, at the Youth of the Year dinner in Salinas, Calif.

JV Smith Companies, a Yuma-based agriculture company, serves Arizona, California, Colorado, and Baja California.

In various efforts, Smith has invested in the Clubs’ yearly Gang Prevention Summit which is hosted at the Salinas Clubhouse. Smith also contributed in the Clubs’ Summer Academy, which helps King City to Salinas children make positive strides in their education.

The Youth of the Year program is the Clubs’ approach to help prepare the next generation of leaders for success.

The Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County has been serving the community for over 50 years.
