Man hospitalized after being struck by car

A 21-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle at the 300 block of West 24th Street Friday evening, police said.

According to the Yuma Police Department, an investigation revealed that a 21-year-old man, who was impaired with alcohol, was crossing 24th Street between Virginia Drive and 4th Avenue when he was struck by a white Fiat, driven by a 28-year-old man.

Authorities said the pedestrian was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The front seat passenger sustained a minor injury in the collision.
