CBP officers confiscate over $67K in meth

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national who allegedly attempted to smuggle more than $67,000 worth of methamphetamine at the Nogales Port of Entry Monday.

According to a press release, officers directed a 27-year-old Mexican woman from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico for further inspection of her Chrysler van early Monday morning. A narcotics detection canine alerted to the vehicle’s right rear quarter panel. Authorities removed multiple packages of drugs that were identified as more than 22 pounds of methamphetamine, worth over $67,000.

The vehicle and narcotics were seized by officers. The woman was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
