Border Patrol apprehends 164 illegal immigrants near San Luis

Border Patrol agents apprehended 164 illegal immigrants near the San Luis Port of Entry in a five-hour period this week.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the incident happened just before midnight on Tuesday. Agents arrested 108 immigrants after they entered the United States illegally from Mexico half-a-mile west of the San Luis Port of Entry.

Five hours later, agents arrested a group of 58 immigrants who also entered the country illegally about a mile east of the port of entry.

Guatemalan nationals made up 156 of the group, and eight were from Honduras. In the two groups, there were a total of 88 children ranging in age from three months to 17 years old.

All individuals will be processed.
