Third body found in Nogales wash following last week’s floods
Authorities say they have found the body of a third person who was likely swept away by heavy flooding in the twin border cities of Nogales.
KVOA-TV reports that a woman walking near the Nogales Walsh just 5 miles (8 kilometers) north of the border Sunday afternoon spotted a body.
Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada says the body was badly decomposed but appeared to be male.
It has since been sent to the Pima County medical examiner to determine the cause of death and identity.
This is the third such incident in less than a week.
Officials recovered the bodies of two men last week in same wash on the Arizona side of the border.
Mexican authorities say they saw those victims get swept away.
