Somerton woman arrested with over $320K in hard narcotics

A 44-year-old woman residing in Somerton was arrested for narcotics smuggling on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

CBP said a 2009 Nissan Cube to secondary inspection after a canine alerted to an odor it is trained to detect.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 51 packages of methamphetamine and five pounds of cocaine located in a false compartment within the vehicle.

The meth weighed approximately 87 pounds and the narcotics have a combined worth of $320,000.

The vehicle and contraband were seized.
