Three mobile homes destroyed in fire

Three mobile homes were destroyed following a four-alarm brush fire that was reported at Highway 111 and Evan Hewes Highway Wednesday afternoon.

The Imperial County Fire Department said the fire began as a brush fire and led to three mobile homes destroyed. Fire officials added that three sheds, a shipping container, five vehicles, and auto parts were lost.

Authorities said the fire is 70 to 75 percent contained and they expect to have it completely put out in two hours.
