Bond lowered for man accused of damaging Yuma businesses

A Yuma man accused of damaging several Yuma businesses appeared in Yuma Justice Court Tuesday, where he learned he’s no longer facing some of the charges he was initially arrested on.

Jesse Carrillo is now facing two charges in the alleged damage of businesses on August 26, one is of criminal damage and the other is of burglary in the third degree. Both are felonies. He was originally facing six felony charges. Judge Gregory Stewart also lowered Carrillo’s bond to $7,500.

Carrillo also appeared for a separate criminal damage incident, but no charges were filed because no complaint was received.

This isn’t Carrillo’s first run-in with the law. “The defendant’s currently on 48-month probation in Yuma County Superior Court. That’s a 2014 case, the conviction being burglary, said Judge Stewart. “There’s also another 2018 case in which I believe has been transferred to Superior Court now. ”

Carrillo will appear in court on September 17.
