Tribute of the Muses 2018

One of the Yuma Arts Centers biggest nights is almost here and Wednesday is the deadline to nominate an artist in your community who is making a difference.

The event known as “Tribute of the Muses” is set for Friday, October 12th and the purpose of the event is to honors artists in the Yuma community who have really made an impact within the community.

While there are several nominees, only two will win the prestigious awards. One of which is the “Helios Award” that honors an up-and-coming voice in the arts community. What’s even better is that all the money raised from the event will stay local and go back towards programming at the Yuma Art Center.

“The nominations are generated by the public so we are asking everyone if you know anyone that is an artist or arts philanthropist or collector or someone who is really making a difference in the arts community. You can nominate them for either the “Tribute of the Muses” awards or the Helios award. We’re going into our 18th year of this great event that the city of Yuma puts on and the deadline for nominations is tonight at midnight,” said Lindsay Benacka of the Yuma Art Center.

The ceremony takes place in the Historic Yuma Theater and is free to attend and open to the public.

A ticketed after-party follows the ceremony with music, food and an art auction. This years theme is Studio 54. For more information head to https://yumaartcenter.com
