Agents seize $150K of meth at checkpoint

Nogales Station Border Patrol agents seized 40 packages of meth inside a rear passenger door and tailgate on Tuesday.

Agents working at the Interstate 19 immigration checkpoint referred a 27-year-old driver and 28-year-old passenger for additional inspections after a canine alerted to an odor emitting from the vehicle.

When searching the vehicle, they discovered 40 packages of meth worth more than 150,000.

Both suspects were arrested for smuggling narcotics and then turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the vehicle and drugs.
