Broken gas line causes home evacuations in Yuma

UPDATE :

YFD confirmed that the gas line has been clamped and residents will be able to return to their homes.

YFD personnel is also clearing the scene.

The Yuma Fire Department is at the scene of a gas line that was broken by construction workers and caused homes to evacuate on Tuesday.

The incident happened on the 1800 block alley between fifth and sixth avenue, according to YFD.

Nearby homes were evacuated for precaution and YFD is advising anyone near the area to use caution.

There is no confirmation on how the incident occurred, however News 11 has a reporter at the scene.
