Ramp closures in I-8 begin August 13

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan ahead for ramp closures on Interstate 8 near Araby Road, beginning on August 13.

Contractors are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and will continue working on a retaining wall as part of an interchange improvement project.

The following restrictions will take place in the work zone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through Monday, September 10:

Both eastbound I-8 on and off-ramps at Araby Road (Exit 7) will be closed. Araby Road continues to be reduced to one lane in both directions between 30th and 26th streets through fall 2018 Alternate routes to take are Avenue 8 1/2 E, Avenue 3E and 32nd Street.

Delays are expected so travelers should allow extra travel time and use caution around construction personnel equipment.
