“Ready Now Yuma” Documentary

Tuesday night was all about celebrating the students of Yuma as the Yuma Union High School District came together with the Helios Education Foundation to present a documentary highlighting the “Yuma Ready Now” initiative.

An idea that is meant to prepare the students of Yuma for life after high school and make sure they are career ready. The documentary is about the partnership between Helios and the “Yuma Ready Now” program showcasing students throughout their time in high school striving to finish with a plan in place.

“Helios is committed to serving all students in Arizona with a goal that every student will be successful in some type of post-secondary education endeavor. What we found in YUHSD were leaders and a community that was willing to embrace this idea that we can do better for our students. That we could introduce a more rigorous curriculum that would challenge the students to do more and to be better,” said Paul Luna, President & CEO of Helios education foundation

The documentary was shown at Regency theater in downtown Yuma around 6pm Tuesday night and those that work in education were all in attendance along with a couple of students.
