8 in custody following armed robbery, police pursuit

Authorities say a Phoenix police cruiser and an Arizona Department of Public Safety vehicle collided while pursuing a minivan full of people following an armed robbery at a convenience store.

The crash happened early Tuesday in downtown Phoenix. No serious injuries were reported and authorities say they were able to take the suspects — several minors and one adult — into custody after tracking them down at an apartment complex.

Police haven’t identified the suspects, but say the adult suspect is a man.

Authorities say the suspects were wanted for armed robberies at a Circle K and 7-11 in the Maryville area.
