Hemet woman suspected of murder awaits court date
The Hemet woman who was arrested Monday on suspicion of killing her boyfriend is now waiting for a court date in a correctional facility in Banning, Calif.
Hemet police said 42-year-old Beatriz Navarrete was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. Police said the incident was a domestic dispute and no court date has been scheduled yet.
Navarrete, who is also known as Beatriz Estrada Torres, was arrested by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Monday. She was driving through Imperial County when deputies received reports of a wanted homicide suspect and arrested her.
Authorities said the suspect and victim had been together for over two decades and had six children.
At around 6:19 a.m., Hemet police arrived at a home located in the 900 block of Silver Dust Trail to find 41-year-old Hector Navarrete who was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Navarrete is facing a charge of murder with malice.
This case remains under investigation.
