Bakersfield man arrested after smuggling two illegal immigrants
Border Patrol agents arrested a man from Bakersfield after he attempted to smuggle two illegal immigrants inside his vehicle at the Interstate 8 checkpoint Monday morning.
A Border Patrol K-9 alerted agents to a white Ford Fusion at 9:26 a.m. which was sent to secondary inspection. During the inspection, agents found two men lying on the vehicle’s rear passenger floorboard.
The driver, a 31-year-old man, was processed for human smuggling.
The two men were found to be illegal immigrants and were charged with illegal re-entry.
