Yuma Rising Stars qualify to compete in the USA Basketball Open

The Yuma Rising Stars are a new local youth basketball team with outstanding upcoming talent.

On May 26 and 27 they competed in the Memorial Day Masterpiece, 1 of 10 qualifiers nationwide for the USA Basketball Open Championship. Only the top two teams in the division qualify and the Yuma Rising Stars were one of them. The stars have been working day and night for ten months to make themselves a renown team. The USA Basketball Championship takes place in Westfield, IN from July 19th-22nd, but they need your help in order to make it there. They are in the midst of raising $6,000 to cover expenses, travel, and lodging. Any amount will help towards the goal and would be greatly appreciated.

This is a competitive ball club. An athlete must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and volunteer in the community at least two hours each quarter.

These kids fall in the 9-13 age group, most of them preparing to start as varsity players at their perspective high school and others preparing themselves to make a team.
