United Way of Yuma, Wells Fargo Bank working together for the community

The United Way of Yuma County, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to ending the cycle of poverty, received a donation of $10,000 from its community partner, Wells Fargo.

It’s for the JA BizTown program for the 2018-19 school year.

The donation from Wells Fargo Bank will allow United Way of Yuma County to expand the program which combines in-class learning with day-long visits to a simulated town.

The program allows elementary school students the opportunity to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for a mayor. It is a good program for students to take what they learn in school and apply it to the real world.
