Yuma BP agents arrest convicted rapist, kidnapper, and burglar re-entering US illegally

An illegal immigrant with multiple previous felony convictions was arrested by Yuma Border Patrol agents in San Luis.

Just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, agents caught 50-year-old Deonicio Torres-Salazar from Jalisco, Mexico entering the United States illegally, two miles east of the San Luis Port of Entry. According to law enforcement, Torres-Salazar has felony convictions of first-degree burglary, first-degree rape, and second-degree kidnapping from La Grande, Oregon in 1993.

Torres-Salazar told agents that he was traveling to San Luis. He was previously deported at the Del Rio Texas Port of Entry in September 2017. He has been charged with re-entry following deportation.
