Police: Stranger stabs intoxicated man at light rail station

Phoenix police say an intoxicated 30-year-old man has wounds that aren’t life-threatening after being stabbed multiple times by a man described as a stranger at a light rail station.

Police say the incident occurred early Thursday morning on the platform at the station at 19th Avenue and Camelback Road at around 3:15 a.m.

According to Valley Metro’s website , that’s s several hours after service ends early mornings on most weekdays and over an hour before service resumes.

No immediate arrest was made. The suspect is described as wearing a gray backpack and wearing a gray sleeveless shirt, black shorts and gray cap.
