New details in road rage shooting that killed a 6-year-old boy in California

(KYMA, KECY) - Police release new details on the road rage shooting that killed a six-year-old last month.

ABC 7 News says 24-year-old Marcus Anthony Eriz and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Wynne Lee, are the suspects who killed six-year-old Aiden Leos on the 55 Freeway. They say Aiden Leos's mother was driving him to school when the suspects cut her off.

Police say a few miles later, Leos's mother, Joanna Cloonan, sped up and merged over the suspects, adding she was angry she was cut off and put up the middle finger. She then heard a loud bang to the rear of her vehicle and heard Aiden say, "Ow."

Eriz tells the police he was upset. Aiden's mother flipped him off, grabbed his loaded Glock 17 9mm, and racked a round. The suspects continued their day rushing to get to work, not realizing they had shot the six-year-old.

A couple of days later, they say the suspects got into another altercation with a man driving a Telsa on the freeway. In which Eriz allegedly took out his gun and waved it to the driver. However, the driver of the Telsa tells police he made a call regarding the incident and drove away.

Eriz said he learned about the child's death on the internet but hid his Volkswagen vehicle in a family member's garage and didn't drive it again. Instead of going to the police, the suspects continued with their life looking for another job.

Sources say Eriz was being held on $1 million bail, but a judge increased Eriz's bail to $2 million and dropped Lee's bail to $500,000.
