Kofa student has art chosen for Binational Clean Air Calendar

Kofa High School art student Marilyn Garcia had her artwork selected for the 2018 Binational Clean Air Calendar. The picture will represent the month of January.

Garcia’s art depicts a penguin and polar bear watching from a melting ice berg as smokestacks billow in the distance.

Garcia was one of only two high school students who had their artwork selected and was recognized at a ceremony in January.

The Binational Clean Air Calendar is sponsored by the Binational Health and Environmental Council, a combined effort between Yuma County and San Luis Rio Colorado Sonora, Mexico to serve as the community branch to the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Association to support and carry out health activities along the U.S.-Mexico Border.
