Firefighters battling brush fire in Imperial County

Several fire departments in Imperial County are battling a brush fire that sparked Friday.

News 11 arrived at the scene at about 1:30 p.m. The fire is near Austin and Keystone Road.

The Brawley Fire Department, El Centro Fire Department, Imperial County Fire Department and Imperial Irrigation District are all responding.

According to Imperial County Fire Department Chief Alfredo Estrada, the fire should be contained in a few hours. So far just about five acres have burned. Wind conditions are making it a little more difficult to fight the blaze.
