Air travel hits a new pandemic high over the weekend
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - More and more Americans are taking to the sky again almost as often as they did prior to the pandemic, hitting a new pandemic high.
The Transportation Security Administration says on Sunday that it screened almost the same amount of people that it did in 2019, which is 90%.
At the same time in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the TSA reported a little more than 260,000 screenings. The new numbers beat last week's record.
There is some bad news that comes with it though. The FAA said more passengers are violating mask rules, receiving almost 2,000 reports of people doing so.
