Second report of man attempting to lure high school cheerleader

Another report of suspicious activity is developing around Cibola High School with the same suspect targeting a 14-year-old girl. Since Wednesday evening, a Hispanic man around 45 to 50 years old was attempting to lure in a high school cheerleader to come home with him. The incident happened again on Thursday evening after cheer practice with the suspect driving a burgundy Ford Focus with an Arizona license plate, according to Yuma Police Department. Eric Patten with Yuma Union High School District said the 14-year-old recognized the same vehicle and suspect from the night before, claiming she doesn’t know who he is. School officials were notified immediately and authorities were called to question the suspect. “The individual showed up again waiting in the parking lot,” said Patten. “From what I understand he was given a trespass warning, and I effectively assume that this will be escalated if he showed up again.” On Friday afternoon Cibola High School released a message to parents reminding their children to travel in groups and report anything suspicious to a staff member if you are on campus.
