High-speed chase suspect says arrest was “unlawful”

The man arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase across the Phoenix area said his arrest was unlawful Thursday.

31-year-old Mitchell Taebel spoke to the media from jail Thursday.

Taebel said that troopers had no reason to pull him over, adding he called 9-1-1 himself.

Moreover, Taebel said he is planning on suing the police over the chase and arrest, and is encouraging the woman he hit to join in the suit.
