Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrest MS-13 gang member

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended an MS-13 gang member north of the Andrade, Calif. Port of Entry Saturday morning.

Agents patrolling near the U.S./Mexico border arrested Edwin Reyes-Cruz, a 40-year-old Honduran citizen who had entered the U.S. illegally and transported him to the Yuma Station for processing.

Agents conducted a records check and learned he was an MS-13 gang member previously removed from the country twice. Records also revealed he had multiple convictions, including robbery, and manufacturing and distributing controlled substances.

Reyes will remain in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations involving re-entry of a previously deported felon, per Yuma Sector guidelines.

Citizens can help the Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection by calling 1-877-999-8727 toll-free to report suspicious activity. Callers may remain anonymous.
