Third armed robbery in Yuma in one week
The Yuma Police Department said a third convenience store has fallen victim to an armed robbery this week.
YPD said Wednesday morning officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Circle K, 637 E. 32 nd Street.
Through the initial investigation, officers learned two men entered the business and threatened the clerk with a hand gun and took an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspects fled the scene at a high rate of speed down Arizona Avenue and were seen going to an apartment complex located in the 1900 S. 2 nd Avenue.
Officers detained four suspects who were ultimately arrested. Gil Daniel Juarez, Anthony Robert Duran and Victor Dominguez, the fourth suspects name has not been released because he is a juvenile.
UPDATE: We learned that 21-year-old Anthony Robert Duran and 19-year-old victor Dominguez have been released due to the state requesting more information from the arresting officer. Until a complaint is filed by the state, they are free men. That is not the case for 21-year-old Gil Daniel Juarez. He is now facing three separate offenses including armed robbery with a hand gun, aggravated assault and theft. It’s apparent that Juarez was the armed man that went into the gas station demanding money. He made out with $116 dollars before YPD caught up with him and the three other men. Edith Ruiz with YPD explains where the arrest took place.
“Four subjects were arrested on January 3rd, 2018. They had been seen going into an apartment complex in the 1900 block of 2nd ave. Three of those suspects were in court today,” said Ruiz.
Juarez is currently being held at a $200,000 dollar bond. Juarez will re-appear in court next Friday.
There have been no reported injuries reference to this case.
