Drivers should expect heavy traffic and allow extra travel time

TONOPAH, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADT), motorists should plan ahead for overnight, alternating lane restrictions on Interstate 10 (I-10) beginning Thursday, May 20.

Maintenance crews and contractors are scheduled to replace pavement. 

The following restrictions will occur: 

  • On Thursday, May 20, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, May 21, the westbound 339th Avenue (Exit 103) off-ramp will be closed. 
  • On Thursday, May 20, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, May 21, the eastbound 339th  Avenue (Exit 103) on-ramp will be closed. 
  • On Friday, May 21, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 22, the westbound 339th Avenue (Exit 103) off-ramp will be closed. 
  • On Friday, May 21, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 22, the eastbound 339th Avenue (Exit 103) on-ramp will be closed. 
  • A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
  • Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. 

Detours include using the preceding I-10 on-ramp or off-ramp in the work area. Motorists should allow extra travel time and plan for possible delays while work is underway.
