Cibola High School marks its presence at 90th National FFA Convention

Taylor McNeece, a sophomore and member of the Cibola High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter had the chance to compete at the 90th National FFA Convention this past week in Indianapolis, IN.

McNeece represented Cibola FFA and the state of Arizona during the FFA Creed Speaking contest and won a bronze medal.

The FFA Creed consists of five paragraphs, written by E.M. Tiffany in 1928.

“Taylor worked so hard for this and it really showed,” CHS Agriculture Science teacher Erika Derma said. “I am so lucky to be her teacher and be on this journey with her.”

Two former Cibola FFA program graduates, Kieran Faulkner and Katlyn Ogram, received their American FFA Degrees. Only one percent of all FFA members receive this degree and it is one of the organization’s highest honors.

Faulkner and Ogram traveled with their families to Indianapolis for the ceremony on Oct. 28, 2017.
