Stop-sign installation comes to intersection of Cruickshank Drive
Follows trend of similar installations around the Valley
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro announced Wednesday morning that a four-way stop is currently being installed at the intersection of Cruickshank Drive and a commercial driveway located between Waterman Avenue and Cottonwood Drive.
The stop signs will go into effect starting Wednesday, May 5.
This controlled intersection will now require east and westbound traffic along Cruickshank Drive to stop at the aforementioned intersection. A high visibility crosswalk will also be added for pedestrian access across Cruickshank Drive.
Last March, a four-way stop was put in place at the intersection of Barioni Boulevard and P Street within Imperial City limits.
This past week, a four-way stop was also installed at the intersection of Worthington and Nance Roads just outside the City of Imperial. Housing along both of these roads has been steadily increasing since the early 90's. Currently, public housing is being constructed just off of the recently added four-way stop.
The County of Imperial can expect adjustments to multiple intersections and merge lanes as both residential and traffic numbers coincidingly increase, especially in commercial districts.
