Border Patrol agent shot at near Calexico Airport

An El Centro Sector Border Patrol Agent was the target of gunfire near Calexico International Airport. According to Border Patrol, the agent was shot at twice Monday evening. Officials say the agent was attempting to arrest three individuals who entered the United States illegally. Officials say the agent neared the International Boundary Fence and realized he was being shot at. Mexican authorities were notified and responded. No injuries were reported.
