13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

Over the weekend many Texans witnessed Mother Nature’s fury which has claimed at least ten lives and injured dozens more. Harvey started off as a Category 4 hurricane with winds as high as a 130 miles per hour. By the time the storm hit landfall it dropped down to a category 3, but still strong and extremely destructive.

The City of Houston wasn’t evacuated and according to officials the city and it’s residents were not ready. Up until now some parts of Texas have seen thirty inches of rain fall and according to the National Weather Service it’s not over and many areas will see up to fifty inches by mid-week. Most of Houston’s freeways are under water which has left many stranded.

Houston’s emergency systems were no match for the shere brutality of the storm; the National Guard along with local law enforcement have been rescuing trapped residents since the storm began. Officials have reported that their 911 system has been overwhelmed and that victims have taken to social media to call for help.
