Storm causes extreme damage to homes and businesses
A large storm cell ripped through Quartzsite Thursday night, leaving part of the town in desperate need of repair.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central La Paz County. That storm brought heavy rain that caused flooding in some areas.
Business owners say power went out for a couple of hours and homeowners. Heavy wind and rain damaged multiple structures in the west part of Quartzsite.
Officials advise that when flash floods occur residents should try to stay out of the affected areas and don’t try to cross flooded roads.
