Foothills Library will be giving out free solar eclipse viewing glasses

The Foothills Library will be giving out free viewing glasses for the August 21st solar eclipse for those who attend events hosted at the library this upcoming weekend.

The glasses will be provided by STAR_NET (while supplies last) and both events will be hosted at the Foothills Library with no charge to attend.

Sun Party! Solar Viewing on the Patio will be hosted on Saturday, Aug. 12th from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Participants will be able to learn more about the solar eclipse and be able to view the sun through the library’s solar telescope. Telescopes with solar filters will also be available to observe sun spots.

Paint the Sun will be hosted on Saturday, Aug. 12th at 1:00 p.m. and children of all ages are invited. Those who attend will be able to view the sun through the library’s solar telescope, and then paint their view of the sun.
