Groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of low-income Mesa Heights Apartments complex

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Mesa Heights Apartments complex took place Friday morning.

Officials say the 58-unit housing development will benefit low and moderate-income families and fills a need identified in the City of Yuma’s Mesa Heights Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.

The complex will be built on 21st Street and Arizona Avenue in Yuma.

In addition to a community room, the complex will also have trained staff on-hand. Construction officially starts Monday, August 7 and the complex is projected to be completed July 2018.

For more information on the project, contact the Housing Authority City of Yuma at (928) 782-3823 or visit their website at http://www.hacy.org/.
