Yuma High School updates uniform policy

Yuma High School will no longer require students to wear uniforms following a survey conducted with parents during registration week.

After 1,039 parents responded to the change in dress code, 61.5 percent preferred a “non-uniform policy” that would still follow the dress code listed in the Yuma Union High School District student handbook.

Students should dress in a manner that respects the dress code and take into consideration the educational environment, safety, health, and welfare of themselves and others.

The new policy will go into effect immediately.
