Driver sent to hospital after crash with utility truck

According to the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department the accident happened just after eight in the morning in the area of Highway 95 and Avenue C. SCFD reports that the crash involved a passenger car and a utility truck; according to the release witnesses told first responders that the driver of the sedan had pulled out in front of the utility truck. The passenger car had received extensive damage and crews had to deploy their “Jaws of Life’ extrication equipment to rescue the trapped driver.

The driver of the sedan was then transported to the hospital; as for the driver of the utility truck he was released at the scene.
