Cloned Dish van seized at Ajo checkpoint

Border Patrol agents seized almost $190,000 worth of marijuana found in a cloned Dish Network utility van in Ajo this week.

The van, driven by a 39-year-old U.S. citizen, drove up to the immigration checkpoint where a Border Patrol canine alerted agents of a suspicious odor.

Within plain sight, numerous blocks wrapped in brown cellophane tape were inside the van, and were later confirmed to be marijuana.

Agents arrested the driver for narcotics smuggling, seized the van and more than 396 pounds of marijuana.
