Farm Bill 2018: Technology at top of list

The future of agriculture may look a lot more like a Sci-Fi movie rather than your traditional farm. That’s because more and more farmers are looking to offset the worker shortage with technology. Last week, many agriculture leaders spoke to the U.S. House Agriculture Committee about what measures they want to see in next year’s Farm Bill among them is an emphasis on newer technology.

Already, farmers across the country are taking steps to avoid future staffing shortages by adapting future technology today. From machines that plant seed, to ones that pick fruits with ease. Some are looking at changing crops genetics in order to defend itself from insects and even weather. Innovation is the word being spread among the agriculture industry.
