Charges revealed for suspect related to murder

Another co-defendant in connection to the murder of a young man in Yuma was seen in court Thursday afternoon.

Nineteen-year-old Daniel Contreras is facing up to 25 charges including first-degree murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, kidnapping, and first-degree burglary with a deadly weapon. The defense team did present an argument to Judge Jones, saying his client is innocent. Adding the latest state penal code statement only includes five suspects but a total of six are in custody. As of today, two men and four male teenagers are all being charged as adults.Contreras and along with his co-defendants will be in court again for their preliminary hearings on July 21 at 4:00 pm.
