Accident on Highway 111 ejects passenger from vehicle
An El Centro man is in the hospital after being involved in a crash with a semi truck on Highway 111 and Keystone Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol the accident happened on Tuesday just before four in the afternoon. CHP reports that at the time of the accident a truck driver began to drive through a red light when he was hit by oncoming traffic, the other vehicle began to spin and in doing so the passenger was ejected.
The force of the impact caused the semi truck to flip on its side; one of the passengers in the truck received minor injuries and transported to an area hospital. The drivers were checked at the scene and released.
