Food for Fines

It’s an all to familiar tale, as the temperatures rise our communities numbers drop and so does the number of donations to area non profits. This is where our the Yuma County Libraries come into play, each year the libraries offer library users the opportunity to clean their accounts and all they need is a canned food item. If you’re a library user and have late fees you can pay off your debt; for every 10 oz can of food you get a dollar off of your debt.

No there are some stipulations; the cans must have a label, must not have dents or be expired. No glass jars will be accepted. The event will go on from today until Saturday July 15; all food donations will go to area pantries and food assistance programs
