Yuma trucker facing serious charges after crash

On Tuesday, emergency personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on State Route 14 just east of Washougal, Washington. According to the Washington State Patrol the driver identified as 49-year old Juan Williams of Yuma was driving along SR 14 when he began to sway and struck the guardrail the impact caused Williams to lose his load. At the time of the crash, Williams was transporting more than 3,000 gallons of hot oil.

The oil is primarily used in road construction and once cooled becomes sticky; because of the spill a portion of SR 14 was closed indefinitely. Juan Williams is facing charges of 2nd degree negligent driving; according to authorities the crash was caused by a combination of defective equipment speeding.
