IID holds swearing-in ceremony for new Division I Director

A swearing-in ceremony was held today to welcome the new IID Director for Division I.

Juanita Salas was elected to the position during the June 6th special election. She garnered 46 percent of the division I vote which covers much of El Centro, south and west of Brawley, Westmorland and the southwestern edge of the Salton Sea.

“Today is a very special day; it’s a beginning of a community win, what we call the community win. A lot of people are telling me that the community came out and they supported the community candidate and I am very excited to be that representative. I’m very excited, like i said, it’s everybody’s win, everyone who got involved with this race,” said Juanita Salas, IID Director, Division I.

Salas launched a new website today, juanitasalasiid1.com.

She says she will be focusing on jobs, the Salton Sea, water rights and various other issues in the Imperial County.
