Palm tree falls onto house

The Yuma Fire Department said a large palm tree fell onto a house Friday afternoon. The house is in the 1900 Block of Naples Avenue. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find that the large palm tree was in the process of being removed when it fell onto the house. There was no one in the home at the time and there were no injuries to those working on the tree.

The garage area of the home sustained serious damage. YFD personnel and City of Yuma building safety personnel were on scene to stabilize and determine extent of structural damage.
